Load & Go – low – cost transport only service full van(s)
This service is suitable for customers that wish to move the maximum amount of goods/cargo the longest distance for the cheapest possible price and who are able to carry out their own packing and protection of goods as well as assisting the driver with the loading and unloading of the van or truck – road side only. You may be surprised just how much money you can save on your removal or relocation just by doing these few ‘additional services’ yourself…..or even if your thinking about hiring a van yourself. Let’s face it in a world where prices continue to rise we are all looking to save money wherever we can!
Loading / Unloading full van(s)
Our driver(s) will provide assistance with the loading and unloading of your goods on and off the vehicle – Road side only. A maximum of 5 hours for loading and 3 hours for unloading is allocated per vehicle unless prior agreement has been made with our transport sales team. Adequate manpower is required at both the collection and delivery points to load and unload the vehicle – i.e if you have sofas and beds that require 2 people to lift them and you have only booked 1 van and driver then you will need to provide at least 1 fit and able person on the day of loading and unloading to help our driver, if you have larger and heavier cabinets that require 4 people to lift them then you need to supply 3 fit and able people to help our driver.
Delivery day / times full van(s)
We can book in a collection day for you any time after you have confirmed your booking and paid the deposit of 10%. However we do ask for a minimum of 72 hours notice if you don’t have a collection date confirmed. When loading for full vans we typically try to book in a morning collection. There are some exceptions such as Paris and London where on occasions we would suggest either very early morning or late night collections due to traffic and parking restrictions, this would of course be by mutual agreement with our customers well in advance. You can change your move date anytime you like (for full vans) as long as we have at least 3 days’ notice. Less than 3 days would usually incur financial penalties as the vehicle would have already been booked and in many cases during peak season we would have turned down other jobs. Specific timings for full vans are normally given by our route planner 12 to 36 hours before collection unless you have booked and paid for a timed service prior to this. If you require timed collection or delivery, please contact us for a more specific quote.
Loading / Unloading part load(s)
This service is suitable for customers that wish to transport less than 12m3 or 600kgs of cargo the longest distance for the cheapest possible price and who don’t have enough cargo to fill a full van. As with full loads, customers should be able to carry out their own packing and protection of goods as well as assisting the driver with loading and unloading of the van or truck – road side only
Our driver(s) will provide assisted loading and unloading of your goods on and off the vehicle – road side only. A maximum of 1 hour for loading and 1 hour for unloading is allocated unless previously agreed with our sales team. You will need to provide adequate manpower to load and unload the vehicle. i.e if you have sofas and beds that require 2 people to lift them and you have only booked one van and a driver, then you will need to provide at least 1 fit and able person on the day of loading and unloading to help our driver. If you have larger and heavier cabinets that require 4 people then you would need to supply 3 fit and able people to help our driver.
You will be provided with a vehicle with enough space on it for your load, therefore any additional items that are loaded on the day without prior agreement will incur additional charges as this can result in there not being enough room on the van or truck for other scheduled loads along the route. If we have estimated the space needed or it has been agreed by both parties that your load is a certain cubic size or weight but it transpires that the load is much larger or heavier and/or there are more items than originally stated, then additional fees will be charged upon collection and must be paid to our office before delivery – this can also have a knock on effect to loading and unloading times **please always speak to one of our sales team prior to collection if you are at all concerned** For example: if you have booked 4 cubic meters but we end up transporting 5 then you will be charged for at least 1 more cubic meter on a pro-rata basis of the original cost. In some circumstances charges will apply for a failed delivery and/or re-collection by another vehicle if the goods can’t be loaded because they are too big or heavy due to the size or weight having been provided inaccurately by the customer. To avoid such circumstances, we strongly advise that you provide us with exact weights and dimensions and/or an inventory well in advance of your collection day.
On a part load basis it is likely that your load may be transported with other people’s goods, therefore please ensure all items are correctly packaged and protected for road and/or sea transport and clearly labelled with your name and destination address. We are unable to take any responsibility for inadequately labelled goods that are left on one of our vehicles or being delivered to the wrong destination. In the event of such cases re delivery fees will apply and will need to be paid before re delivery is carried out by us or one of our transport agents.
Delivery day / times part load(s) transport only service

We can even usually book part loads up to the same day of collection if you don’t have a date confirmed. There are some exceptions such as Paris and London where on occasions we would suggest either very early morning or late night collections due to traffic and parking restrictions, this would of course be by mutual agreement with our customers well in advance.
Part loads are usually made at any time on a given day. We are not able to give specific times in most cases until hours before collection or delivery due to the vast distances that are covered and unknown traffic issues that may occur on route. Our route planner will start to liaise with you a few days before collection/delivery to keep you updated on the vehicles progress and our planner/driver can always call you a few hours ahead or shortly before arrival if it suitable.
Transit times for part loads
We are not able to give specific times in most cases until hours before collection or delivery due to the vast distances that are covered and unknown traffic issues that may occur on route. Our route planner will start to liaise with you a few days before collection/delivery to keep you updated on the vehicles progress and our route planner can always call you a few hours ahead or shortly before arrival if it suitable. The typical delivery times can differ vastly from anything from 1 or 2 days to 2 or 3 weeks. If you have a specific collection or delivery deadline we need to know about it ASAP so we can plan the route accordingly – part loads are based on flexible delivery terms. We would also ask for a degree of understanding regarding international moves returning back to the UK as our loads continuously change as we adjust our routes to group part loads close together in the interest of keeping our rates as low as possible. If you require timed collection or delivery for a part load then this would normally cost around €150 per collection or delivery, please contact our transport team for a more specific quote.
Inventory for transport
You must provide us with a final inventory of goods to transport including an approx. value for each item or box. We will need to provide this on delivery documents so the cargo can be checked on and off the vehicle. It is also required by foreign police and customs should the vehicle be stopped for a spot check. The value of each item or box is required for insurance reasons. Our load planners will also need to see a copy of it to check the estimated cubic size and weight of the suggested load against industry averages. You will also need to provide a 2 copies of the inventory in paper format on the day so that yourself or the person loading for you can check this inventory onto the vehicle with the driver. One copy is for you to keep and one copy is for the driver. If you wish to transport your goods without doing this then it is done so entirely at your own risk.
Road side only
Transport is provided on a road – our definition of this is the nearest doorstep to the ground floor of the property. For example: if you live in a block of flats this would be the doorstep on the ground floor at the entrance hall and not the doorstep at a flat on the 18th floor. If you live in a house that has 29 steps to the front door then we mean the step at the closest point to where we can park our van or truck, or simply step 1. European Moving and our drivers will of course take a common sense approach to a few steps or several steps to deliver your goods but excessive amounts of steps at the very least need to be brought to our attention in the early stages so we can gauge the amount of man power required and the time needed to move the cargo/goods. In some cases this would incur additional charges. If you have any concerns regarding steps or access or if you require goods to be removed from the upper floors of properties please contact our transport sales office.
Load volume and weight
The biggest consideration when moving your goods needs to be the weight. Our vehicles carry the same weight capacity as all of the others in the transport business. The most popular vehicle we use is a Luton van which can load Upto 20m3in volume with a 1000kgs maximum weight. If you have a large amount of heavy boxes – let’s say 20kgs each – then you will only be able to get 60 boxes on the vehicle before you start to hit your weight limit. If you are moving excessive amounts of books or heavy boxes with items such as bathroom tiles then please bring this to our attention ASAP. In some cases we can send these via the general freight network at very competitive prices maintaining the bulk of the cubic capacity of the vehicle provided for your furniture and eliminating the need for a second van. If left to the last minute the only viable way of moving such loads at short notice would be to send in a second van which will be far more expensive for you. If you are at all concerned that your load is going to be over weight then please talk to our transport team at the earliest opportunity so we can plan a low cost solution for you and avoid any difficult and stressful situations on the day of your move.
Please make sure your goods are adequately packed and protected for road and/or sea transport. European Moving and our insurance company are unable to take any responsibility for damaged goods if they are inadequately packed and protected and subsequently damaged in transit. For Example: if you wish to move a cream fabric sofa or bed unwrapped and without protection this is done so at your risk (We strongly advise all such items are not sent in this way and we will not take any responsibility for any dirty marks that may be made as a result). If you wish to put glass items and crockery into card boxes unprotected and/or without securing the boxes properly to prevent them moving about then this is also at your own risk. In some cases for smaller shipments typically under 5m3 your goods may be sent on a pallet service.
In rare cases if your goods are being transported to some of the smaller European Islands your goods may be sent by shipping container – any additional costs of using this service will be covered by Europe
